Carla Trigilia

Spontaneous, resolute and a huge animal lover, Carla Trigilia was born and raised in Syracuse, Sicily. She went on to study in Rome earning a Master in Corporate Communications from the prestigious Luiss Business School. She worked in the Communications and HR Departments of important Italian companies when she was in Rome. Her career took her to Milan for 7 years working in a multinational PR agency handling clients such as Kellogg's, 3M and O-I. She worked in external and internal communications dealing with national and international clients for over 15 years. Having made the decision to move to Melbourne to follow her husband's career opportunity, she arrived in 2017 and started working as a teacher. Carla has been managing the Centre of Italian Studies the historical Italian school in Melbourne, since 2019. She is passionate about everything Italian here in Australia and she loves creating a direct link with Italy by interviewing important authors, film directors and actors from acclaimed Italian drama tv-series and movies. Her hobbies include volunteering to rescue farmed animals at Edgar's Mission, travelling and reading Italian contemporary authors. Carla was shortlisted in the 2017 Melbourne Writers Festival in My Place in Melbourne storytelling competition. She arrived in Melbourne in 2017 with her husband. They are now two proud permanent residents, and they love spoiling their cats!
