Kristy Stanfield
Kristy is a Brisbane-based creative whose love for words led her to study a Bachelor of Linguistics majoring in Italian at Griffith University where her writing won second prize in the 2014 Concorso Letterario sull’autobiografia awarded by the Dante Alighieri Society of Brisbane. She then went on to teach English as a Second Language. Through her studies she gained a deep appreciation for Italian music, singing with the Dante Alighieri ‘Unicoro’ Italian Community Choir before joining Brisbane-based Italian folk band Zumpa. She is also an accordionist and singer/songwriter, performing both solo and with ensembles including Úna Heera and the Folkaphonic Youth Orchestra who are regulars in the Australian festival circuit. While her first loves are words and folk music, Kristy also has a keen interest in circus and other performance art.
